The dance will start at 7 PM with easy family dances for all ages. From 8 PM until 10:00 PM the dance switches to contras, squares and other dances with added instruction for the big kids. This dance is open to the public, and children are welcome. No costume, partner or experience is necessary. Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended (see shoe policy below). The cost is $5 per person or $15 per family.

Music is often provided by our all volunteer band Hoosier Recruits. Members have included Peter Martin on hammered dulcimer and flutes, Laurie Eberhardt on fiddle, Hilda Demuth-Lutze on flute and piano, Mark Lutze on base and mandolin Darlene Alonzo on piano, Keith Lemmer on banjo, John White on fiddle and guitar, Dot Pakan on accordion, Suzanne Keldsen on fiddle, and Marti Pizzini on a variety of traditional instruments.

55 Chicago Street in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Shoe Policy:

Please help us protect the floor by carrying in clean-soled, non-scuffing shoes to dance with.

Directions to the Dance:

From the North (I-94 or the Indiana Toll Road): Exit on Rt. 49 and travel south to the U.S. Rt. 30 West exit. Go west, past the Walmart and the University. Turn north on Washington Street towards downtown (this is where hwy 2 comes in from the south; there's a Walgreen's on the northwest corner of the intersection). Turn north on Washington Street and go over the tracks and continue two blocks past Lincolnway and the old courthouse to Chicago Street.The YMCA will be on your left (Map)

From the East (Rt. 30): Go west on U.S. 30, past the Walmart and the University. Turn north on Washington Street towards downtown (this is where hwy 2 comes in from the south; there's a Walgreen's on the northwest corner of the intersection). Turn north on Washington Street and go over the tracks and continue two blocks past Lincolnway and the old courthouse to Chicago Street.The YMCA will be on your left

From the West: (I-65 to Rt. 30): Take the U.S. 30 exit from I-65 if necessary, then travel east on U.S. 30, past the WiseWay foods and one more light past the Zao Island dragon. Turn north on Washington Street towards downtown (this is where hwy 2 comes in from the south; there's a Walgreen's on the northwest corner of the intersection). Turn north on Washington Street and go over the tracks and continue two blocks past Lincolnway and the old courthouse to Chicago Street.The YMCA will be on your left
